Photographed in Gum Bayou within Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp, the work confronts the visual grammar of western theater — spectacle, performance, constructed narrative — within the primordial materiality of the Gulf South's swamplands. The curtain reflects perfectly in the black water below it, doubling itself without resolving anything. It functions as both framing device and intrusion.
